Final Project
What’s the next big thing? Have you been away from your home or business and worried would happen in the event of an emergency while you weren’t near? Now worry no more as USight brings the future of an advanced security system and seamless mobile integration. I plan to design an advanced home security system that includes facial recognition, motion detection & tracking. Similar technology already exists, but with USight going on vacation or extended trips away from your home or office will now be worry free. The home security system will also have a mobile app which streams live of the premises and provides daily updates.
Through use of biometric face recognition, the security system will also be capable of facial identification, face tracking and also classification for persons within the frame. Face-recognition technology is rapidly evolving as evidence by this new surveillance camera system. Surveillance systems that include video analytics analyze video footage in real-time and detect abnormal activities that could pose a threat to an organization’s security. Essentially, video analytics technology helps security software “learn” what is normal so it can identify unusual, and potentially harmful, behavior that a human alone may miss. Video analytics technology “learns” by taking operator feedback about the accuracy of various events and incorporating this intelligence into the system itself, thus improving its functionality. This interaction between operator and technology results in a “teachable” system: Artificial Intelligence at its best in the realm of security where ultimately, human oversight takes a backseat to the fine-tuned capabilities of intelligent video analytics(the wire). It can not only recognize specific faces, but is able to compare a single face to more than 36 million others in just one second. In the event of emergency, USight will alert the appropriate officials when subjects are at risk of attack while sending alerts on your connected mobile devices. Face recognition and detection will be based on real time video processing and active watch lists matching. In the event, the USight picks up a face familiar to active watch lists in the area or region officials will be alerted instantly. USight will also have expandable memory so that it can store all the faces picked up and later can tell you if a person had been around the home or business previously. USight will allow owners to store up to 10 faces and respond differently to each of them. So you can get an alert when the kids get home, but not the spouse, for instance, or clear a neighbor coming over to watch the dog while you’re away. You’ll need to “train” the camera on each face, though.
This service will primarily be for homeowners, business owners and also security companies that may need to save money, but still need efficiency and accuracy. Also, such technology will need to be integrated with police officials and the FBI in order for the active watch list feature to be effective. According to a CNN tech article, the FBI used to rely on low-tech version that relied fingerprinting means, but has a soon to be high-tech security surveillance that will store about 51 million photographs in its database. The FBI database will also keep photos that it receives when conducting background checks, which it does for lots of private sector and government job candidates. The plan is for USight to become available used more by retailers in order to keep theft rates low.
You’ll have to pay for USight’s cloud service, which stores security footage online for you to view, but at $15 a month it probably won’t break the bank. Besides, who can put a price on peace of mind? No price is too high if can bring you piece of mind along with effective security. How do I plan to gain traction for USight? Well through the use of a few social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat. Hopefully people will see the effective service for what it is and eventually want it in their homes or businesses. Also, for signing up with us before the new year we have a three-month trial going on so we can gain more customers. The only fee new subscribers will have to worry about is the $250 startup and equipment fees.
What makes USight different from the rest? It would have to be its seamless mobile app and real time processing of all persons that come within its frames. Also, you can’t go wrong with three-months of powerful, secure and cost efficient security for your home and business. USight will also have the ability to be used for multiple properties for an additional $10 a month per additional location being secured. The mobile application will allow for the owner to have access to view their property at any given moment and not worry when they can’t because USight is always alert. USight might take away some security jobs as the artificial intelligence within the system has little to no error as opposed to a security guard that can’t always secure entire premises as effective as this service.
