Before Facebook was popular there was MySpace. Although you can pick you’re your background, the format and the setup remains the same. Facebook took away more of your creativity. Everyone’s profile is the same. The software for Facebook Does not give people the option to express themselves s through their profile. The only thing that makes us different on Facebook is the content that we post. We are product generation “Like” so your image contributes to the creativity your factor on Facebook, that basically the only thing that makes us different on this site, so it is safe to say that Facebook homogenizes identity. Your Profile and you cover photos are what we are limited to in terms of personal representation. Like “when a prospective user visits Facebook’s homepage to sign up for a new account, they are asked six preliminary and mandatory questions. Those questions are 1) first name, 2) last name3) email, 4) password, 5) birthday, and 6) gender. These limited choices exclude a set of people who don’t fit within them, namely those who are transgender”. Facebook on the other hand, has many resources such as video chat, money transactions, Facebook live, selling and promoting your business, for news, inventions, and more. With all the technology and software updates I hope Facebook will one day allow their users to be more free, like what if I don’t want a profile picture, what if I don’t want to be found by my first and last name I should have a choice. #MoreFreedom4Facebook.
