Is everyone online social? What does it mean to be online in 2016?

Online social media is used to market, sale, promote, and socialize. The use of online social media varies from big corporations and businesses to displayed visuals of the public in their everyday lives. I wouldn’t say that everyone on social media are social, some may use social media websites such as Facebook,Twitter, and Instagram just to communicate with family, friends, peers, and associates. However in order to thrive on social media, The key is to socialize in the five fundamental ways of doing so would be choice, creation, curation, conversation, and collaboration. With these five habits and/or tools, your social media page will be booming, with thousands of likes and views. With this attention you can receive either good feedback and bad feedback. We all know everyone has their opinion.
To be online in 2016 means you have to be willing, open, and smart with your limitations on what you present to the public. As for the factor exist of a possible misinterpretation of what is posted; being conscious of the idea that what you post can be viewed by employers .

A better way to simplify this would be agenda setting, as like any form of media there’s a reason for everything. If there’s a control on whats presented on social media, it controls what is actually important and discussed. For instance, the debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump has been very crucial to the future of the US, however just weeks ago instead of the debate being the cover of the New York Times, a story on Jennifer Aniston was produced and published pertaining to the splitting/separation/divorce of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. This was no coincidence.
